Live Nation Makes Error Over Gorge Openers?

Edit (12:24pm EST 5/3): jiggslikesphish tweets following link about a new opener at Gorge: here

Edit (7:39pm EST 4/46): According to officials, this is believed to be an error on Live Nation’s part.  However, it was not 100% ruled out.

According to Live Nation, Phish has two scheduled opening bands for their two-night stand at the Gorge on August 5 & 6.  If you click “please note” on the top right of this page, it reads: Scheduled openers: Kitty[,] Daisy & Lewis and Amadou & Miriam. It is still unclear if these will take place at a side stage by concessions, or in front of the band’s set up on the main stage before ticket time.

Since the mid-90’s, Phish is obviously not known to have opening acts (on the main stage or side-stage)–in fact, I can’t think of when the last time Phish had an opener in recent Phish history.

Edit (7:25pm EST 4/26): It should also be noted that neither group has these dates listed for a concert on their official site, FB, or MySpace.

Edit (7:29pm EST4/26): Via AndyKahn, this might be a mix up.  According to The Daily, Coldplay played a show at the Gorge with Kitty, Daisy & Lewis and Amadou & Miriam on July 11, 2009.  However, the dates are so different, I am not banking on this  yet.

According to Wikipedia;

Kitty, Daisy & Lewis is a three-piece band comprising the siblings of the Durham family. Their music is influenced heavily by R&B, swing, jump blues, country and Western, blues, Hawaiian and rock ‘n’ roll. They are all multi-instrumentalists playing guitar, piano, banjo, lapsteel guitar, harmonica, double bass, ukulele, drums, trombone, xylophone and accordion between them.

Amadou & Mariam are a musical duo from Mali, composed of the couple Amadou Bagayoko (guitar and vocals) (born in Bamako 24 October 1954) and Mariam Doumbia (vocals) (born in Bamako 15 April 1958). The pair, known as “the blind couple from Mali” met at Mali’s Institute for the Young Blind, and found they shared an interest in music. Amadou lost his vision at the age of 16 while Mariam became blind at age 5 as a consequence of untreated measles.
