Monday Morning Video Pick-Me-Up: Tuesday Edition

We chose to push the weekly Video Pick-Me-Up back a day this week for two reasons: first, the work week starts Tuesday, so that’s when up-picking is most needed. Second, I needed a day to come to terms with what the hell Phish did to me in Bethel this weekend.

Now I don’t want to get too hyperbolic, because I saw a perfectly unexceptional show Sunday night. But Saturday’s show was not only better than every other 3.0 show to date, but better than I believed the band was capable of at this point in their career. One jam after another would unfold with no hint of the hesitancy that has characterized so many of the last two years’ performances, no question of where the fire had gone. Because Saturday night, it became clear that the fire is in Trey’s belly–right where it belongs.

But Zim and OPT have unwrapped the weekend in much more detail for you. This post is about the videos. So without further ado, here, first, are the three free daily HD videos Phish has released on their Vimeo channel:

Phish – 5/27/11 ” Waves” from Phish on Vimeo.

Phish – 5/28/11 “Backwards Down The Number Line” from Phish on Vimeo.

Phish – 5/29/11 “46 Days” from Phish on Vimeo.

As he often does, mkdevo got some amazing HD videos of his own from the audience. Here’s the startlingly good Stash from Friday night’s first set:

And the jammed-out Kill Devil Falls from later in the set:

mkdevo is still in the process of uploading, so stay tuned to his Youtube channel. In the meantime, have a great time at whatever shows you’re seeing this week, and check back in next Monday, because I have a pretty good feeling I’ll have a lot of great new material to share with you then…
