After graduating from the University of Vermont in the mid 90’s, Lars Fisk ventured out to the working world and rented his first small studio space. Little did he know, his neighbors across the street happened to be Dionysian Productions, Phish’s management company at the time. Lars was contacted by former Phish manager John Paluska and asked to create the art for the band’s upcoming Clifford Ball festival. Along with Russ Bennett, their collaborations began a relationship with Phish festivals that has spanned over the last 15 years. In this interview with Trey, you’ll get a walk down memory lane as they discuss Ball Square at Clifford Ball, the Roman inspired Great Went, the Sunk City at IT, Lemonwheel’s exotic Chinese Gardens and their upcoming ideas for the exhibits at Super Ball IX this July 4th weekend at Watkins Glen.
