Monday Morning Video Pick-Me-Up: UIC

Well, I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news: the wait between Chicago and the Colorado run (which starts September 2) is almost one-third over already. The bad news: before we get there, we have to endure two whole weeks of life and the end of summer.

But surprise! I’ve got more good news: I’ve gone through all the videos from UIC Pavilion and picked out the best for you. Many of them come from user lazylightning55, who captured some nice, steady footage from good angles, and got some excellent audio. To get things started, here’s his video of the excellent Maze. As he was throughout the run, Trey is more animated here than I’ve seen him in years.

Not bad, right? Well this may be even not-badder. In three parts, the Disease from night 2, which was the longest jam of the weekend:

If the first two nights’ second sets were about the jams, the third night’s was about antics. The most entertaining of these, by far, was the Makisupa, which is worth watching, if nothing else, for Trey’s dancing during Page’s solo:

No Quarter:

A raging First Tube (preceded by footage of Cavern):

And last but not least, the stunning jam out of Waves from the first night.
