Phish To Release Hampton And Winston-Salem ’97

[edit 10/21] The box set is now available for pre-order on Dry Goods. It will include soundchecks of both venues as bonus material.

Via Hidden Track, the “hallelujah” news of the day: Phish will release their performances from November 21, 22 and 23, 1997 on CD. The seven-disc set, which will be released December 6, will include soundchecks from both Hampton and Winston-Salem.

The three shows feature some of the most stunning improvisation of the band’s career; the Hampton shows, in particular, have been arguably the most requested concerts for official release by fans. Last year, in reviewing each show of the historic Fall ’97 tour, I said, “the band’s improv was so inspired and they were jamming so much that every show was one for the ages. [The November 22 gig] just happened to be possibly the single ages-iest.”
