Here at OPT, we’ve been focused on tomorrow’s Hampton/Winston-Salem release — read Adam’s review of the box set, and check back for some exciting box-set-related content tomorrow and shortly after the release. But let’s put that aside for a second, because THE COUNTDOWN TO MSG IS AT 23. That’s right, folks: a mere 23 days from now, we will be freezing our asses off on lovely 7th Avenue, waiting for the opening of the doors to heaven, and all the crowded corridors, nosebleed seats, and sink pissing you’d expect from a heavenly place.
Since this weekend was the anniversary of the band’s first MSG run of 3.0, let’s take a look back at that run. The band was still just getting its groove back after the breakup, but this three-night run in December 2009 was the first time I saw the band really sounding comfortable and firing on all cylinders. Here’s some video evidence that proves I’m not full of crap.
