As many of us have already known, Phish will be releasing a 6-CD box set titled St. Louis ’93 which will feature two phan-favorite shows from one of the best years in Phishtory: April 14 & August 16, 1993. Yes, at one time Phish played cities that were not NYC. St. Louis ’93 is available for pre-order now on LivePhish.
The two shows aim to showcase the lightening the band captured in 1993 when Trey was unstoppable on guitar and the band was starting to seriously expand their improvisation–with amazing results. 4/14 is notable for the Spooky jam in YEM (among many other highlights and fiery playing) and 8/16 for, well, all the reasons that August ’93 is widely considered the best month of band touring.
